OVERVIEW
During my bachelor’s degree at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Nigeria (2005-2009), I developed a keen interest in Parasitology. Specifically, I undertook a 2nd year module on an Introduction to Helminthology and Parasitology and then conducted an industrial placement during my 3rd year at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. Here I assisted in collection and screening of samples in the Department of Parasitology and Microbiology. As a final year project, I investigated the “Antimicrobial properties of Honey from three Southwest locations, Nigeria”.
Upon graduation, I completed a compulsory year National Youth Service (2010-2011). I then proceeded with a M.Sc. in Parasitology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria investigating “The impact of Malaria control in Imota, Lagos, Nigeria”. After which I worked with Lagos State Health Service Commission before starting my Cardiff based PhD in 2015.
I am currently on my PhD research investigating “The Role of Endemic infection in Disease Emergence” supervised by Dr Jo Lello and Prof. Jo Cable.
