Dr. Patrícia J. Faria-Shayler

PatiOVERVIEW

I obtained my first and second degrees in Biology at the University of São Paulo, Brazil (MSc supervised by Dr. Cristina Y. Miyaki and Dr. Anita Wajntal). During my PhD I studied population genetics of seabirds, in collaboration with Prof. Mike Bruford at Cardiff University, where I later undertook a Marie Curie Fellowship investigating host-parasite evolution in guppies and gyrodactylid parasites with Dr. Jo Cable. Following this I held a Lectureship in Brazil investigating amphibians genetics and a postdoctoral position at the University of Nottingham in cancer biology, before moving to my current position at the Edward Grey Institute.
